Let's face it, we all get stuck in a rut. So in an attempt to stretch my creative muscles I am vowing to post a weekly a black and white photo, taken by moi. That might not seem like a tall order, but frankly, I love color.
I like my images to be bright and crisp or warm and creamy, but I like 'em with some color. Especially NOW with fall in the air and leaves turning golds and yellows, children in bright Halloween costumes, pumpkins, gourds & mums on porches...I want to take pictures of all of it and plaster it all over Facebook.
Yet, I am restraining myself and taking a minute to really think about light and shadow. I read once that shadows are the souls of photographs...I wish I could remember where I read it but mom-brain prevents me from remembering any thing that isn't directly in front of me. So there you have it. I'm going to step out of my comfort zone and it's going to be weird and maybe everyone won't like them but I'm doing it anyway.
So here is week One. My very own B&W challenge to myself. I think I'll begin with some love... Have a great Monday.
